Due to the global economic situation that we are having now, many of us are looking for ways to make extra money at home or maybe you want to start an internet home business. You might think it’s hard, but not really. I’ll be posting sometime some articles with tips on how to start an internet home business. If you can’t wait for my posts, for now you can get Honest Riches by Holly Mann here. It’s “The Ultimate Internet Marketing Guide for Beginners.”

In my previous articles I blogged about Keven Rose’s personal story on how he started Digg.com which is featured in Reader’s Digest (Aug. 2009). The following is the Reader’s Digest Question and Answers in connection to Kevin’s story.

RD: Is starting an Internet business as easy as it seems?
Kevin: Oh, absolutely. Back in 2000, just to get a site off the ground, you had to buy expensive servers. There weren’t as many freelance developers. Now you can get a rented server for $100 or less per month and hire a freelance coder for 10 to 12 bucks and hour and get off the ground for a few thousand dollars.

What’s your advice for someone who wants to launch a site?
Kevin: People spend too much time planning and trying to get everything perfect before they launch. You’re never going to know what users think until you get a site into their hands. Get something out there, find out what the community thinks, then refine and rerelease. You’re going to get a lot of things wrong, and that’s okay. You can always kill anything you don’t like.

Other than that, hold off as long as possible before taking investments, because the longer you wait, the higher your valuation and the less of your company you’ll have to give away.

RD: Are you ever off the computer?
Kevin: It’s easy to get lost in the computer; I probably spend 12 to 14 hours a day on it. But on the weekends, I need to unplug. As I get older, I realize I can’t live online. It’s going to burn me out or kill me. I also just got glasses for the first time in my life.

RD: What’s the best business advice you’ve ever gotten?
Kevin: You don’t have to work for other people, you can do your own thing and it can work out. Also, do something you love. In my family, we’ve each followed our passions in life. That’s the most important thing.

RD: Are there certain entrepreneurs or business people who’ve inspired you?

Kevin: Growing up, it was Bill Gates for sure. And of course, Steve Jobs. I love the fact that he pays extreme attention to detail in his products. There’s something about opening an Apple product and everything from the lettering on the manual to the way it’s packaged is perfect — that means a lot. 1

ChristianMomsCorner.com page note:
If you’re interested to start an internet home business, I am recommending Honest Riches – Internet Marketing Guide by Holly Mann. She will build your website for FREE. She will only require you to sign up BlueHost hosting service through Holly’s website set up service. With BlueHost service it will only cost you around $100 per year – regardless how many sites you will have. Holly had set up my first site (a health site).

ChristianMomsCorner.com is my 2nd site. I bought a blog template from StudioPress ($59.00) and I had someone to set up for me for $34.00. I registered my domain for $9.00 at dynadot.com.  So the total startup cost for my 2nd site is less than $100. . . . Then my yearly renewal cost for 2 sites will be  probably $130.

For commercial purposes I highly recommend StudioPress theme templates — Click here to visit StudioPress website!

Well, if you have any questions you can contact me Click here to send e-mail. I’ll be happy to help you in any way I can.
